The National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola established an Interactive Technology Center (ITC), allowing students and teachers statewide to learn about aeronautics and the physics of flight.
The ITC prototype is a distance-learning classroom that includes state-of-the-art technology. It will enhance learning throughout the state via video and teleconferencing capabilities, as well as provide a learning environment in which students can participate without physically being at the museum.
For more information and to schedule an "online fieldtrip" to the aviation museum for your class, please visit http://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/Education/Interactive-Technology-Center.aspx

New Groups!
Several new groups have joined LIFE of Florida in the past few days:
Pensacola L.I.F.E. Homeschool Support Group is an all-inclusive group
in Northwest Florida. We respect all homeschooling styles and methods.
We are an all-inclusive group, open to everyone regardless of race,
religion or homeschooling beliefs. We have a monthly get-together and
members plan field trips and other activities including an occasional
teen night.

Jacksonville FL Homeschoolers
Newbies and Old Pros, this is the group you've been looking for. We
offer everything you need in a homeschool group because you, the
members, are the ones who design and lead the group. We have co-op
classes, field trips and park days all planned by homeschoolers just
like you. We're growing rapidly and the more families we have, the
stronger and more interesting the group becomes. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Jacksonville_FL_Homeschoolers/
and
Homeschoolers of Collier County (HOCC)
"The purpose of HOCC is to provide support to its members, regardless
of religious beliefs, home education philosophy or choice of
curriculum. HOCC is open to anyone regardless of race, religious
beliefs, or home schooling philosophies. We have weekly events,
monthly field trips, quarterly family events, a yearbook, a variety of
clubs, an active message board and support for our members."

A new politically focused homeschool blog, Progressive Homeschoolers of Florida
is on the scene as well. If progressive politics aren't your cup of tea, you still might enjoy the many civic engagement and elections resources featured on the blog, as well as the overview about Home School Legal Defense Association's renewed push for a national Parental Rights Amendment
If you know of an inclusive group or an interesting resource you think others might enjoy knowing about, let us know!
